Ronald P. Brault, CFA

Chief Executive Officer

Meet Ron Brault, Chartered Financial Analyst, Chief Executive Officer, Chief Compliance Officer and Chief Investment Officer of Financial Strategies. Ron has spent more than 30 years of his life working with people and institutions who rely on him for advice in making strategic financial and investment decisions...AND he has 40 years of experience in playing guitar and making music. You might not think so, but there are similarities. Both endeavors take study, practice and diligence. Both require insight, adaptability and intuition. And finding the right balance is key, from managing your financial life to managing your life. Ron is thrilled to have the opportunity to work close to home and be part of the community.

Ron received a B. A. in Psychology from The College of the Holy Cross in 1975 and a Masters in Business Administration in Finance from the University of Connecticut in 1986. Ron is also a Chartered Financial Analyst (1990) and a member of the Stamford CFA Society.

Ron lives in Wilton, CT with his wife Christine, 2 dogs and a few guitars that he enjoys playing when time allows. They have 3 children and 2 grandchildren.

Edward A. Tomasko, CFP, MBA

Chief Financial Officer

Ed has over 25 years of independent business experience working in finance, investments, insurance and tax planning. Ed received his B.S. in Marketing/Accounting from Quinnipiac University in 1966 as well as an MBA from American University in 1968. After working as a broker for a number of years, Ed started his tax practice in 1985, became licensed in life/health/Long Term Care insurance in 1987 and qualified for the designation Certified Financial Planner in 1990. Through the years, Ed developed an interest in integrating a variety of specialties in order to provide more complete advice to his clients. This eventually led to the founding of Financial Strategies in 2001. Ed is a member and past President of the Fairfield County Chapter of the Financial Planners Association, and also holds memberships in the National Association of Tax Planners as well as the NY/CT Association of Tax Professionals. Ed also contributes his time and knowledge as a 17 year member of the Insurance and Pension Committee for the Town of Bethel.

Ed is a resident of Bethel, CT along with his wife Helen and two (very large) cats. Ed is proud of his daughters, Joy, a playwright living in New York City and Felicia, a RN and Editor of LA Yoga & Ayurveda Magazine living in Los Angeles, CA. He also enjoys singing in the church choir when time allows.

Steven Brill, RPLU

Registered Professional Liability Underwriter

Meet Steve Brill, RPLU (Registered Professional Liability Underwriter). Steve is a licensed Property, Casualty, Life and Health Insurance broker. His mission at Financial Strategies is to advise clients on how integrated risk management fits into their overall financial plan.

Steve brings 25 years of experience in all facets of insurance and management to Financial Strategies’ services. His experience includes brokerage and client management for some of the largest and most sophisticated US insurance brokers. In addition, his product development and claims management experience, at four major insurance companies, enables him to provide clients’ with insurance and risk management that improves their coverage while lowering the cost of risk.

Steve is licensed in Connecticut and New York. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from State University of NY, an advanced certificate from the College of Insurance, a Life Underwriter Training Council Diploma ,and a Registered Professional Liability Underwriter designation.

Steve and his wife Ellen, a high school Culinary Arts teacher at Bethel High School, have been residents of Bethel for 20 years. Their daughters, Stephanie and Amanda are graduates of Bethel schools and hold Masters Degrees in their respective fields.

Martin Mezza

Martin Mezza, MBA, MST

Tax Associate

Martin is a Tax Associate who has a Masters in Taxation from The University of New Haven and is currently working on obtaining his CPA license. Martin previously attended Quinnipiac University where he obtained both an MBA in Accounting as well as a B.S. in Finance. Martin has worked in financial services and taxation for over 15 years in various capacities including insurance and investments. His multifaceted background gives him unique insight into matters ranging across finance, taxation, insurance and business and franchise ownership. Martin likes to relax by fishing, boating, hiking and competitive shooting.

 Catherine McGrath

Marketing Director

Meet our newest member of the team, Catherine McGrath.  Catherine recently made a career shift into Financial Planning from the nonprofit sector where she was a professional grant writer.  After 25+ years of fund raising and development with high net worth donors at the International Executive Service Corps (started by David Rockefeller), AmeriCares, various Boards of Education and Ann's Place for cancer support, Catherine brings with her broad networks throughout Fairfield County.  Catherine is currently studying for her license as a Life, Accident and Health Insurance Agent in CT and NY, and will soon be working towards obtaining licensure in investments.  Catherine holds a B.A. from the University of Bridgeport and a Certificate from the Women's Campaign School at Yale University.

Catherine lives in Ridgefield with her husband John, and two dogs.  Their son John Jr. and wife Alana live outside Boston.  Their daughter Clare recently graduated from St. Michael's College in VT and now lives and works in New Hampshire. A Master Gardener, Catherine enjoys spending free time in the garden and with family.
